Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with Maximo experience to join our utilities clients team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the functionality and usage of IBM Maximo across the organization, ensuring that business processes are aligned with technical solutions. The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, streamline workflows, and drive efficiencies within the asset and work management systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Gathering & Analysis:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (internal teams, clients, and technical staff) to understand, analyze, and document business requirements related to Maximo asset management and work management processes.
  • Maximo System Enhancements:
  • Identify and propose improvements in the Maximo system that align with the utilities client's business needs, including system configurations, customizations, and upgrades.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Analyze current business processes within the utilities industry and recommend Maximo solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • System Implementation & Support:
  • Assist in the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Maximo modules (e.g., Asset Management, Work Order Management, Inventory, etc.) to support ongoing and new business requirements.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Utilize Maximo to gather and analyze data, produce reports, and provide insights to stakeholders for decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business units and IT, ensuring clear communication and understanding of Maximo capabilities and limitations.
  • Training & Documentation:
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and conduct training sessions to enhance user adoption and maximize system effectiveness.
  • Support & Troubleshooting:
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Maximo-related issues, working closely with technical teams to resolve any system challenges.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the utilities industry.
  • Proven experience working with IBM Maximo, including configurations, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of asset and work management processes within a utilities context.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in IBM Maximo (v7.6 or above).
  • Experience with SQL, reporting tools (BIRT or others), and Maximo configuration.
  • Understanding of Maximo integration with other systems (ERP, GIS, etc.) is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and present actionable insights.
  • Communication:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
  • IBM Maximo certifications (preferred but not mandatory).


Preferred:

  • Experience working in the utilities sector, understanding of regulatory requirements and operational challenges.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
