Power Press Operator/Setter

Carbon60 are currently looking for a Power Press Operator/Setter to join one of our Defence clients in Portsmouth, manufacturing high-precision components to tight tolerances.

You will be responsible for setting and operating mechanical Power presses and hydraulic presses according to work orders.

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9 hours per day (Fridays off)

Salary: Circa 25k/ 28k (Experience dependent. Company performance based annual bonus)

Responsibilities:

• Set and operate mechanical Power presses and hydraulic presses according to work orders.
• Load sheet metal strips onto presses and mount press tools.
• Run machines and inspect work to verify conformance of die setup to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press machinery.
• Inspect products for quality assurance.

Requirements:

• Good grasp of the English language, both orally and in writing, as well as experience working with engineering drawings
• Experience working as a press setter with knowledge of setting and operating power presses up to 100 tons.
• Familiarity with single op/ganged and progression tooling fed from blanks and strips.
• Knowledge of punch/die changes and common tooling problem-solving skills.
• Press setting certificate (preferred).
• Experience Setting and operating fly press an advantage
